About Makusina
Non-medical support for people with developmental disabilities and their families in Lee County, Florida.
Our story
I'm Maritza Hernández, founder of Makusina Home Care Services. The idea for Makusina grew out of something I have seen in my work as a caregiver: some people live alone and need company. They need someone to talk with and share their day, someone who will stop and listen.
I have also seen that families who care for a loved one need time for themselves. Visiting other family members, resting somewhere quiet or simply taking a break helps them recharge and return to their routine with more joy. That well-being also shows in the way they support and care for others.
These needs led me to take the first steps to create Makusina. I want to support people with developmental disabilities and their families, with a personal touch that respects their choices, their needs and the way they live.
Makusina is a new venture, born from my experience and from a personal conviction: feeling heard and supported can make a difference in someone's day. With that conviction I begin this journey, committed to providing support with patience, respect and responsibility.
